For the past eight years I have taught in the Department of English Literature at UAEU, where I have also been serving as Department Chair since last August. I am the guest editor of 'Caribbean Cinema Now', special issue 6.2 of 'Imaginations: Journal of Cross-Cultural Image Studies'. Other major research interests of mine include Caribbean literature, postcolonial and feminist theory, ecocriticism, and Emirati cinema. My presentation this year revolves around family dynamics and the places of daughters within them.
